Chapter 165
Mia generally had a good impression of Zach. Since she started at the school, he had been considerate of her work and personal life, never making things difficult for her. He always showed the demeanor of a respectful leader. Under his leadership, the school’s performance steadily improved catching up with the top school in the district. Teachers’ benefits also increased yearly
However, Mia always felt uneasy about Zach’s attention. Maybe It was a woman’s intuition, but every time she went to his office, he was always very enthusiastic, asking about her work and private life He was always passionate in their conversations, but he never acted that way with anyone else.
For a young teacher, receiving the principal’s attention and even favor should have been a good thing, but Mia felt a subconscious wariness. She always felt there was something unsaid in his attention. However, over the years, Zach had never made any verbal or physical advances, which gradually made Mia relax and feel she might have misunderstood him.Reaching the third floor. Mia was slightly out of breath from hurrying. Her face was flushed, and a fine sheen of sweat appeared on her forehead. Her chest heaved with each breath. After pausing for a moment, she knocked on the door. Hearing Zach’s voice, she pushed it open and entered, unaware that a man was watching her from a distance with a look of shock and anger.
Mia stepped into the principal’s office and found only Zach there. She hesitated and asked, "Mr. Jackson, I thought you mentioned a meeting. Where is everyone else?"
Zach chuckled, "Oh, they all came early, so I had the meeting with them first and sent them home. Since you were late. I had to wait for you alone."
"Mr. Jackson, what were you discussing?" Mia asked, her face. slightly flushed and her demeanor uneasy. She was never comfortable being alone with Zach and feared something might happen
"It’s like this." Zach said. "The education bureau is organizing a study tour for schools, and each school can send one leader and two teachers I’ve already decided on the male teacher, but I haven’t settled on the right female teacher yet." He paused, glancing at Mia, who showed no reaction. He continued. "Our school’s female teachers are all excellent. It’s hard to choose, so I wanted to hear everyone’s opinions. Mrs. Wilson, who do you think would be suitable? And you can even recommend yourself."
Mia thought for a moment and said, "I recommend Camila. She has a lot of experience, gets along well with her colleagues, and her class is excellent. Their English scores have always been the best in the school."
Zach nodded. "You have a point. Mrs. Wilson. But this time, I want to choose some younger teachers to expose them to advanced educational concepts. Camila is a bit older, so we’ll leave her out for now. Do you have any other candidates?"
