Julia is stunned that a man she has barely talked to is actually grabbing her ass right here in the open. She is so shocked that she freezes, unable to react.
Even Brandon is surprised, seeing no reaction from Julia. What he doesn’t know is that she is just shocked by what is happening. Julia finally reacts, moving away from him and slapping him hard on the face.
"What the fuck do you think you are doing?" Julia yells. Brandon holds his cheek as the slap stings, staring at Julia like an idiot.
Even Xu Lin gets startled and turns around to see Julia shouting at the man she saw sleeping on the couch when she came in.
"What’s happening here?" Adam asks as he walks in. Julia, seeing Adam walk in, opens her mouth. "This asshole just grabbed my ass," Julia says, looking at him. "What?" Adam feigns surprise and then disgust when he looks at Brandon.
Brandon, seeing Adam’s reaction, realizes that he fell into a trap and is about to out Adam, but Adam is just too fast for him. Adam drives a punch into Brandon’s gut, knocking the breath out of him, before grabbing him by his hair and dragging him out of the house.
Julia watches with wide eyes as she sees how Adam easily manhandles a big guy like Brandon. They are about the same in height and size, but seeing Brandon struggling against Adam even as he tries his best to free himself from Adam’s grip makes Julia realize that all those muscles that Adam has are not just for show.
Adam drags Brandon out of the house and throws him out. "Now leave and don’t you dare make a fucking scene if you want to keep your job," Adam says, giving Brandon a cold glare. Brandon gets back to his feet while clutching his stomach. If looks could kill, Adam would be dead this very moment.
Brandon grits his teeth in anger. The humiliation he has suffered at Adam’s hands has crossed the line; he vows to make Adam’s life hell, but this is not the right time for that. Adam has something that can ruin him, so Brandon can only keep his mouth shut and leave.
He turns away from Adam and leaves. Watching Brandon drag his sorry ass out of the gate brings great pleasure to Adam. But this is just the beginning. Brandon has no idea that his life is going to turn out even worse from this moment onward.
