Chapter 44: Hesitation
Adam feels something is off about Gloria. Though the woman seems to want this, she also has hesitation in her eyes.
Adam wonders what is making Gloria take such a decision. Even though he would love to fuck a woman as beautiful as Gloria, if she is not into it, he won’t enjoy it much as well.
He looks around and finds a photo of Gloria with a man. The man has his arm around Gloria, and both seem to be smiling happily. Anyone would look at this photo and presume that these two are husband and wife.
Adam, too, thinks the same, but this is the only photo he sees of Gloria and this man together. He walks up to one of the flipped pictures and turns it to find another picture of Gloria and her husband, but this photo is in much worse condition.
He looks around at the carnage and starts to understand what is happening here. A pissed off wife, multiple broken decorations, flipped and shattered photos.
The only intact one that has not been damaged is because it is placed high up, where a woman of Gloria’s size won’t be able to reach.
’Is she looking for revenge?’ Adam assumes as it is the only thing he could think of going on right here.
Gloria soon comes back with two empty glasses and a bottle of wine. Adam looks at the bottle and realizes that it’s one of those very expensive ones.
He remembers Jack bringing one of these bottles back and cherishing it more than anything in the world.
Looking at Gloria, he doesn’t see her as a wine connoisseur to buy such an expensive wine and then share it with a fling.
"How about we drink first before getting on with it," Gloria says, passing one of the wine glasses to Adam.
