Chapter 1800: Time’s running.
[Short Flashback]
"So, where are we headed?" Slater asked as they—he, Penny, and Shawn—gathered in the middle of the underground collection room. They’d already chosen their vehicle; now they just needed to finalize their first destination.
"We can go to the Mansion, but with only the three of us, it’s going to be tricky," he added. "On top of that, that granny already told us the Mansion was being run by Nathalie Zorken. So, we might not even get through the door before they start shooting us down."
Shawn’s expression was slightly dark, his eyes down, deep in thought. "Jonathan doesn’t know that."
After saying that, he lifted his eyes and met the siblings’ gazes.
"At least, from what I know, our original plan was for me to hand over the code to him in the mansion," he explained. "Unless there’s been a change of plans, then he’s failed. Or rather, she already knew what he was planning."
"If that’s true, then he’s been played," Penny answered almost indifferently. "If not, then that guy’s going to get his karma soon."
"Hope she kills him," Slater blurted out carelessly, his eyes back on Penny. "So? What should we do? We don’t have a radio to contact the others, so we don’t know where they all headed."
"Isn’t it obvious they’d go to the mansion?"
"They would, but not without a plan," she said. "Moreover, my husband and First Brother wouldn’t go there first. So, I’m sure Mint or Second Brother will eye the mansion first to buy them some time."
