Chapter 1494: Convincing him to break off the engagement
Breaking off Finn and Cassandra’s engagement was not easy. They had been destined to marry since childhood, and their wedding was anticipated by everyone. How Finn managed to dissolve it wasn’t simple either, but the Davis family supported his decision. Moreover, they assured that this wouldn’t strain their families’ relationship.
And it held true.
The Davis family remained staunch supporters of the Smiths. Finn’s parents maintained a cordial relationship with Senator Smith and Cassandra’s parents.
So, if there was someone who could break off this engagement, that would be Jonathan.
Even so, in Cassandra’s heart, there was a lingering unease. Yet, a small part of her hoped and wanted to believe in Jonathan and the Pierson family.

Standing at the villa’s entrance, Cassandra drew a deep breath. She pursed her lips, fixated on the door, waiting for someone to open it. After a moment, she heard movement inside, and the door swung open.
"Cassy?" Jonathan’s face lit up with surprise as their eyes met. "I didn’t expect you tonight."
She forced a smile. "Is this a bad time?"
"Not at all," he smiled, pushing the door wider. "Please, come in."
"Thank you," she murmured as she entered, her gaze following him.
"Have you eaten? I didn’t anticipate your visit, but I can check what’s left." Jonathan started, turning to her, only to see her shake her head.
