Chapter 1393: You’re still alive because of me
Atlas arched a brow, recognizing the road they were taking. Not long after, the car stopped in front of the gates of the Bennet Mansion.
"I didn’t tell you to drive me home," he said in his usual monotone, his eyes fixed on the driver’s seat.
Jonathan resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he looked back at the ungrateful man in the backseat. "The first thing you should be asking is how I knew where you live," he corrected, knowing the impact of this knowledge would be lost if Atlas didn’t even acknowledge it.
But alas...
Atlas was already stepping out before Jonathan could finish his sentence.
"Tsk." Jonathan clicked his tongue, watching him through the front passenger window. "Isn’t he even curious how I knew where he lived? Or what I’m going to do with this information?"
This information, after all, was a nice ingredient to add in a threat.
His face soured as he watched Atlas approach the gates. The guard opened the smaller entrance for him, and Atlas walked in without hesitation.
"Just look at him," Jonathan muttered to himself. "Not even sparing a glance back to wonder why I’m still idling here."
With a huff, Jonathan shook his head, deciding not to dwell on it. After all, Atlas was... well, Atlas. Jonathan would rather deal with Zoren’s madness than Atlas’s infuriating calmness. Somehow, that composed demeanor was even more maddening.
"Great," he grumbled as he drove away, annoyed at wasting minutes of his life driving Atlas home. "What’s the point of having an assistant if he won’t drive him home?"
As far as Jonathan was concerned, Atlas usually drove himself to work and home. Though there were times when his driver took over—mainly when Atlas had more than three places to be in a day—his focus lately had been on operations at Pierson Corporation rather than outside meetings.
