Chapter 1007: I can see you
"That third brother of mine..." Penny groaned as she massaged her nape, reaching out for the master bedroom door knob. She paused, stretching her neck until she heard it crack.
A satisfied hiss escaped her as she felt the tension in her neck release with that crack. "That’s more like it," she mumbled, twisting the knob and pushing the door open.
As soon as Penny opened the door, her eyes fell on the person sitting up on the bed. Zoren had his back against the headboard, holding a tablet in his hand as if he were reading something. When he heard the door open, he slowly peeled his eyes from the dim, warm light of his screen to the person by the door.
A beautiful smile turned up on his face the moment he locked eyes with his wife. "You didn’t kill him, did you?" His voice was soothing and calm. His smile was so charming it was melting her heart.
For a moment, Penny was mesmerized. The curtains were partly shut, but the little natural light still made her husband look warm and... majestic.
"Wow," she breathed out. "That’s my husband."
Zoren’s brows rose as he tilted his head to the side. "Penny, are you okay?"
"Ah?" she snapped back from her trance and smiled. "Yep! He’s still alive. It’s not like murder is an option."
Penny casually stepped in, closing the door behind her before skipping over to the bed. But instead of jumping beside him, she went over to the other side where he was and sat down on the floor.
"Why are you there?" he asked, tapping the space beside him. "Cuddle with me."
She shook her head. "I just wrestled with my third brother on the lawn."
"We can change the sheets later. Is that a problem?"
