Chapter 956: Didn’t have to mark his territory every time... but he would still do it.
"Shall we proceed to the terms and conditions of the buyout?"
Mister Miller and Theo Miller had been on a rollercoaster of anxiety, surprise, and bewilderment. When they first heard the meeting location, they were shocked but didn’t dwell on it. Then, they learned about the situation with the Bennet Family. They expected that Penny would be a lot different now that the shift of power within the Bennet family was public knowledge.
But they were wrong.
Not only did Penny ask them to meet at the Pierson Corporation, but they were now in the CEO’s office. To make matters even more baffling, Zoren Pierson himself was present. Although Zoren was minding his own business, this situation felt strange overall.
Penny ignored whatever thoughts swirled in the father and son’s minds, as they were evident on their faces. She bent over, separated the two folders on the table, and slid them in front of them.
"Read it." Her voice snapped them back to the present moment as she casually leaned back, resting one leg over the other. "Once you finish reading, we can proceed to the next step."
"Ahem!" Mister Miller mildly shook his head, telling himself to focus on the situation. He reached out for the folder and then glanced at Penny.
"Take your time," Penny nodded at him. "I’m not in a hurry. If you need it to, you may always contact your lawyer to check the contract."
With that, Mister Miller cleared his throat, recomposing himself and pushing away unnecessary thoughts. All he had to do was read the terms and check if Penny had added something questionable.
Theo also shook his head, darting his eyes between Penny and Zoren briefly. ’It doesn’t matter if he’s here or not,’he told himself. ’We came here for the buyout. Whatever Penny is doing to impress us... it might be working, but we have to focus.’
