Chapter 946: Do not let the Bennet Family down
Allen’s steps slowed, his brows furrowing as he noticed boxes inside Atlas’s office. When he stepped inside, he stopped, completely confused by the sight before him.
Atlas’s office wasn’t grand, as he liked his working space spacious. Aside from the countless books on the bookshelves in the corner and some pictures of his family, there wasn’t much in it. Now, however, the office was completely vacated.
All the books on the bookshelves were now in boxes, the painting on the wall was unmounted, and the minimalist decorations that gave life to this space were also thrown in boxes. The office now looked completely empty, ready for someone else to occupy it.
"Director Bennet," Allen blurted out, shifting his eyes from the boxes to the man seated behind the desk. "What is the meaning of this? How could you come into the CEO’s office and touch Sir Atlas’s things?!"
Stephen smirked, staring at Allen in amusement. "Oh ho! It seems you haven’t heard from your boss yet?"
"What?" Allen scoffed in disbelief, glancing at Atlas and then back at Stephen. His face immediately turned red as he clenched his teeth. "Director Bennet, what nonsense are you saying now?! The chairman is in critical condition! How could you cause trouble for Sir Atlas right when the chairman fell ill?"
"Allen, stop it," Atlas remarked. However, his words fell on deaf ears as Allen was prepared to fight Stephen Bennet.
"Director Bennet, with all due respect, but you are going too far!" Allen harrumphed. "Who do you think you are to do this to my boss? Aren’t you grateful that despite what your son did to another human being, he still let you linger around and didn’t drag you into it?"
"But the moment the chairman fell ill, you’re acting as if you’re now the head of the family!" he continued. "Aren’t you ashamed?! After earning mercy from Sir Atlas and the chairman, you are doing this to them!"
"Hah! What a feisty little one!" Stephen snickered. "Are you done?"
