Chapter 659: I’ll become a good person
Penny’s guilt for Mark and everyone else was real, so to appease them, she ordered them some food and promised she would behave. But even with that, she knew it wasn’t enough. So, she promised herself that she would treat them well and behave... for now.
"Goodness... I thought that once I came home, I could relax. I didn’t know I would be stricken with guilt." Penny idled on the couch in the master bedroom, hiding there for some relaxation. "Gosh. I didn’t know Renren would send them to a volcano to find a mine."
Laying on her back and gazing at the ceiling, her face soured at the thought. No wonder Zoren told her the damage had been done because his men seemed to have just come back from hell. Fortunately, none of them were harmed — aside from some serious burns.
"I guess... this is how the Pierson mentality is," she mumbled, thinking that these types of punishments seemed normal for them. Even Zoren wouldn’t bat an eye when he was handing out consequences to his people.
"I wonder what he’s actually like to other people?" she whispered, her eyes swirling with curiosity. "I mean, I already saw how filial he was to his grandmother, but what about the rest of the family?"
It wasn’t like Penny wasn’t aware of how the other Pierson family members treated Zoren, as they would even orchestrate an accident to kill him. So, Penny was now curious about what kind of man her husband was to those trashy relatives.
"Well..." Penny shook her head and sat up, smiling. "Doesn’t matter. I’m sure I would fall in love with him all over again if I witnessed that."
With that thought in mind, Penny stood up and was about to do some work when she noticed something from the window. Deep lines appeared between her brows as she approached the window to check what was happening.
The moment Penny stood in front of the window and saw what was going on outside, her face contorted. There, still digging in some parts of the garden, was Nathaniel.
"What in the world...?" she blurted out in disbelief. "Don’t tell me he’s been digging all this time?!"
