Chapter 510: What have I done?
Lying on his side, his temple propped up by his knuckles, Zoren’s mouth curled into a soft smile. His fingertip traced the bridge of her nose down to the tip, earning an exhausted hum from her as she opened her eyes.
"Sleep," he said quietly, smiling as he noticed her trying to stay awake for him. "It was a tiring... night."
Penny blinked sleepily, sighing. "You should too."
"I can’t."
"Why?"
"Because I want to do it again."
"Huhu," a weak, dramatic cry escaped her lips. "What kind of exercise have you been doing?"
Initially, Penny had been the one afraid she would exhaust him. Had she known it would be the other way around, she wouldn’t have worried so much.
Zoren chuckled. "So, just sleep," he said, his laughter faint. "Otherwise, I might keep you awake."
"I’m tired..." she murmured, settling comfortably under the blanket, her bare skin pressed against the sheets. "Just don’t stay up too long."
"Mhm."
With a soft hum, she closed her eyes and drifted off quickly. Not that it took any effort—she was already too tired. It had been a long day, and now it was well past three in the morning. In no time, her breathing deepened as she slipped into a deep slumber.
