Minutes earlier...
"Ack—" the unsuspecting bodyguard flinched when someone suddenly appeared behind him. But before he could say anything, a sharp pain struck between his shoulder and neck, and his vision dimmed.
Thud.
"Oopsie." Penny covered her lips, instinctively catching the man before lowering her arm and letting him drop to the floor.
As the bodyguard’s unconscious body hit the ground mildly, Renny approached, mouth open, but stopped when Penny whistled.
"Psst!" Penny clicked her tongue three times to get the panther’s attention. She raised a finger and shook it from side to side. "No biting. He hasn’t done anything bad to us."
Renny’s ears drooped a little, thinking, ’But you said it was time to have fun, Mom!’
Penny leaned against the wall and tilted her head to check if anyone else was nearby. Seeing no one, her lips stretched into a grin. She turned back to Renny, still smiling.
"Blacky, let’s go!" she urged, sprinting toward the unguarded back door. "No one is around — come!"
When they reached the back door of the residence, Penny looked around like a mischievous thief. Pleased that she hadn’t been caught yet, she cast Renny a quick glance.
"Quiet," she whispered, her fingers in front of her grinning mouth. "Okay?"
Renny didn’t make a sound and he just watched as Penny reached for the knob. Her grin widened as she twisted it, delighted to find it wasn’t locked. Carefully, she pushed the door open.
