For a moment, Ray felt like he was dreaming... or that he was witnessing a nightmare.
"Take care, okay?" Zoren’s eyes softened as a loving smile spread across his face. "Tell me once you reach your office."
Penny pursed her lips, a smile gradually replaced her initial shock. "Mhm. You too."
Zoren smiled in satisfaction while Penny gazed up at him affectionately. The two of them stared at each other before Zoren let her go reluctantly. As he took a step back, Penny glanced at Ray’s blank face and sighed.
’Well, I guess this is better. It’ll save me from getting harassed by him,’ she told herself before jumping into the driver’s seat.
Zoren courteously closed the door for her, taking another step back as he watched her drive away. He raised a hand, waving mildly to say goodbye.
As for Ray, his mouth gaped as he stared at his devious cousin. His brain, which used to be the second sharpest in the star section, couldn’t process what he had just seen. If anything, he questioned it.
Did he really just witness his cousin kiss the woman he liked?!
What kind of abomination was this?
Slowly, Ray’s face crumpled, and before he could think, he pointed a finger at Zoren. "Cousin, what was that about!? I knew Penny was pretty, but I’m your cousin! How could you do this to me right in front of me?!"
Zoren cast Ray a disinterested look, hoping Ray would be able to put two and two together. However, it didn’t seem like that was the case.
"Cousin, why would you hurt me like that!?" Ray gasped in dismay. "You can’t just do that to someone you met! Didn’t you say you’re married? How could you steal a kiss from Penny? Worst of all, she’s the one I’m wooing!"
