Babies' Secret: My Ex Wants Me Back!

Chapter 96: The moment

Chapter 96 – The Moment

Katherine and Aaron sat on the couch, clinking their cans together as silence stretched between them. The night was silent and cool.

After the heartfelt reunion in the garden, the four family members played around, from sightseeing the heart garden to riding bicycles and all. Then when the sun started to set, the kids released a yawn and Katherine smiled.

They each picked the twins up and took them home—Aaron’s house. When they got there, they tucked them in, and now they sat in the living room, sharing a can of beer.

"Beer tastes better with a drinking buddy," Aaron started, his gaze already zeroed in on Katherine’s lips, and she nodded.

"Yeah," she mumbled.

"The kids are so energetic," Aaron said.

"So energetic for their age. I don’t know where the kids got their strength from."

"From yours truly." Aaron grinned, taking a chug from the can.

"Hahaha, I can’t keep up with them at all. It is like they don’t get tired."

"Well, I’m here now," he whispered, and Katherine cocked her head to him. She had been avoiding Aaron’s gaze; she didn’t know how she could hold it after that passionate kiss they shared in the garden.

Her cheeks flamed from his gaze; there was this scorching, no, clouded gaze Aaron always stared at her with, like a predator waiting to jump on its prey, and it made her jolt a little, and her throat bobbed from his response. She knew Aaron only said, ’I’m here now’ to ease her work about keeping up with the kids, but her head was thinking of another meaning.
