The twins sat on their bed, the ticking sound of the wall clock reverberating in the room as both were in their own world. Before Jasmine, who was twisting her doll’s hair, released a long sigh and her brow furrowed, "Mom is in it again," she muttered dejectedly, pausing what she was doing, staring at her twin brother.
Hanith’s hands stilled, his nose scrunched while nodding in agreement. Even though their mom thought they couldn’t see it, they could see the sadness in her eyes.
Their mom sighed every time, looking blank while staring at the wall without knowing, even smiling at their conversation when it wasn’t necessary. She wasn’t like that before—something must have happened.
"Hmmm, what can we do now?" Hanith asked, moving to his sister on the bed.
"Ah!" Jasmine screamed a little, dropping her doll on the ground, "I don’t know. Should we call Uncle Mathy?"
"No, but we can ask for daddy," Hanith mumbled softly.
"I miss him also," Jasmine grumbled, "Mom never says anything about him. Are they not wanting to be together anymore?" she whispered as Hanith’s eyes widened in panic.
"No way," he crossed his hands, "we can’t allow that!"
"Yes, I know," Jasmine slumped her shoulders, "So what should we do?"
Hanith smiled softly, "Let’s find an adult to call daddy for us. We will call him and make them come together again."
