"I need to return his shirt," Amelia mumbled to herself as she paraded in front of Mathew’s office like a soldier on duty. The mahogany door stared at her tiredly—the door was already stressed from her dropping by and not knocking. She’d been coming to Mathew’s office, but knocking on the door was the issue.
Was she scared? Definitely no!
Shy? No.
Nervous? Yes!
Today was like that too. How can I return it? she counted in her head. This was awkward. Why did she have to slip that day and have her boss there to watch her embarrassment?
She wanted to pull her hair out.
Thank God the damage for the glasses and wine wasn’t removed from her salary.
"Today is it!" she willed herself and raised her hand to knock on the door—that was when the door yanked open.
And swiftly, she turned in shock, trying to run away, but tripped.
Mathew had just finished talking with Katherine about the new trend in the hotel market and was asking advice from her as the manager if the hotel should also follow the new trend. When he saw a shadow of someone pacing in the little space from the door to the floor, he raised his brow in question, quickly telling Katherine to keep quiet, and walked cautiously to the door.
