Babies' Secret: My Ex Wants Me Back!

Chapter 37: The twin? Aaron?

Chapter 37

The suite was quiet—too quiet for Amanda’s liking. Well, it has been like that for a while now. She paced in the room restlessly, her fingers trailing the cold surface of the mini bar counter. It had been days since she last saw and spoke to Aaron.

They shared the same suite, slept under the same roof, yet the distance was like the parting of the Red Sea.

He barely crossed paths with her. It was like he was avoiding her.

She scoffed to herself pathetically, trying to ignore the bitter pang in her chest. It didn’t matter. He was busy, right? He had to be. He was always busy with work. But she couldn’t shake the feeling that it was more than that.

She glanced at her phone—no new messages, no calls. She wasn’t surprised. It was always like that. She always had to be the one to call first, message first, and hope to get a response from him. Even the messages she sent were still unread.

Amanda exhaled loudly, frustration rolling off her like steam. She hadn’t even heard from him after the hotel’s mini event, and it pissed her off and pained her. There was no apology for the way he treated her—neglected and left her alone in the hall. No acknowledgment that she was still there. That they were still together. The contract hadn’t elapsed yet, but he was treating her like a mistake—not even a substitute.

The hallway outside her room stretched long and empty, a perfect reflection of her growing unease. She stepped into the corridor, her heels clicking lightly on the floor as she moved toward the elevator. Her thoughts were a chaotic mess—she needed to clear her head and find out what was going on.

And their one-month stay had been extended a little.

Amanda lingered in the hallway just so she could catch a glimpse of the man she called husband. Just outside the staff corridor, she heard voices.

She craned her head, not meaning to eavesdrop, as she heard a familiar voice—the conversation catching her off guard. It had been weeks since she saw her—Katherine. The pain in her ass.
