Chapter 88: Two Planets
[Jasmine’s POV]
Gareth’s gray eyes darkened with need, but he swallowed and broke eye contact with me. For a moment, we were silent, and the only sound in the room was the bath draining.
“If you keep looking at me like that, you’re going to make me lose grip of what little self-control I have,” Gareth muttered as he finished drying my hair.
His words made desire shoot up my spine. Was it possible that he wanted me as much as I wanted him?
“Keep looking at you like what?” I whispered and took a small step forward.
Our bodies were only a breath away. If I dropped my towel, I would be completely naked. Gareth’s shirt was practically see-through. We were alone. How far did I want this to go?
In the back of my mind, I wondered if it was smart to play this dangerous game.
But even if someone offered me a million dollars, I wouldn’t leave this room.
I wouldn’t leave Gareth.
His eyes locked on mine, and the energy that flowed between us was so strong that I could almost touch it.
“Like you’re still under the influence of the drug laced with aphrodisiacs,” he answered, his voice low and gravelly.
I raised the hand that wasn’t holding my towel against my body and gently trailed it down his arm. “The only drug that’s affecting me right now is you. My desire for you is like a drug.”
