Chapter 30: Justice Served
His hand clamped around my wrist as he led me toward the staircase tucked in the corner of the bar.
“Where are we going?” I asked, trying to sound casual even though my voice shook. Warning bells started to ring in my head. “Mindie... Mindie is waiting for me.”
“I’m bringing you upstairs,” Alpha Bryson said gently with a smile that made my stomach turn. “Thought we could go somewhere quieter for you to take a little break.”
“No...” I insisted, trying to glance over my shoulder for any glimpse of Mindie, but my vision was slowly becoming blurry. “I want to stay here.”
“Your friend will be fine,” he said easily. His grip shifted to the small of my back, stroking my skin through the fabric of my blouse with deliberate intent as he half-carried me up the stairs. “You’ve had a long day. Let me help you unwind.”
“Let go of me,” I said quietly, trying to struggle out of his hold, but it was futile. My arms and legs felt like lead. My body wasn’t cooperating with me. At this very moment, I had the strength and coordination of a newborn pup.
Alpha Bryson merely chuckled. “I would, but you can hardly stand. I wouldn’t want a top student like you to damage your lovely mind.”
As if to prove his point, he deliberately loosened his grip, causing my foot to slip at the top stair. He caught me easily, but his hand slid too far, grabbing and squeezing my ass. To my horror, I was feeling a strange, needy warmth bloom from his actions.
He pulled me flush against him, and a whimper escaped my lips at the skin contact.
“You see?” he whispered against my hair. “You feel it too.”
I froze. My mouth opened, but nothing came out. I wanted to push him. Scream or do something.
