Chapter 189: An Unexpected Reunion (2)
"What kind of man can be considered a good man?"
Shen Lingxing remembered that Mi Jing had said something similar before, but he didn’t pay much attention to it and didn’t take it to heart. He thought it was just her momentary sentiment. But as the same topic was brought up more frequently, he couldn’t ignore it anymore. As a psychology master’s graduate, Shen Lingxing heard the unease in Mi Jing’s words.
"Like my dad, who spoils his wife and loves his daughter, always follows his wife’s instructions, always thinks his wife is the most important, and must be loyal to his feelings, doesn’t look at or think about or touch other women." Mi Jing said with a smile, but then she recalled what Fang Qingru had told her before.
Her mom had said that all along, it seemed to others that her dad was very obedient to his wife, but privately, there were many times when she was the one giving in. Although she had a strong personality, she wasn’t unreasonable. Plus, she said, a woman can’t be too spoiled and arrogant; meeting the right person is a matter of luck, but whether one can hold onto happiness depends on one’s own efforts.
Fang Qingru had rarely said such things to her before, but since she married Shen Lingxing, she nagged her like chanting scriptures whenever they met, fearing that she would forget everything. Although Mi Jing was impatient when listening and felt that Fang Qingru was nagging, she remembered everything her mom had said.
After saying quite a bit, Mi Jing waited for a few seconds but didn’t get any response, so she looked up at Shen Lingxing’s handsome face and saw that he was frowning!
"Why are you frowning? Is the standard too strict? You think you can’t do it?" Mi Jing asked.
"I probably can’t." Shen Lingxing answered honestly.
"Which part can’t you do? Do you think being loyal is very difficult, or do you think there will be more attractive women in your life?" Mi Jing asked with disappointment as she moved out of Shen Lingxing’s embrace, sat up straight, and glared at him.
