The three had just stepped onto the steps in front of the grand entrance when two calls followed from behind. Hearing the sound, the three turned their heads to see a man in a gray suit holding a brown envelope, striding toward them.
Mi Wan watched quietly as the man approached. She had seen him before; he was Chairman Ji’s subordinate, the one carrying bags of items behind them yesterday.
Suddenly, she recalled what Chairman Ji had said yesterday. He said she would definitely win. Had he found some kind of evidence?
"Is there something you need?" Mi Wan stood on the steps, slightly taller than the man, and with her calm demeanor, her simple question radiated a subtle sense of authority.
"Yes." The man nodded, slightly out of breath, then looked up at Mi Wan and said, "Chairman Ji asked me to give you these documents."
"What documents?" Mi Wan did not reach out her hand and instead looked at the brown envelope before her as she asked the man calmly.
"They are related to the case you’re handling." The man responded respectfully.
As expected, she had guessed right.
Mi Wan smiled and took the envelope, saying, "Thank you."
