Chapter 70 - 69: Tonight Belongs to Haruno
Tonight might have been the most awkward dinner Roland had ever experienced.
Throughout the meal, no one spoke, each lost in their own thoughts.
Normally, Haruno would have been the most talkative, especially with her two favorite targets for teasing present at the same table at same time.
But tonight, Haruno was just like Yuki, keeping her head down and eating in silence, completely avoiding eye contact. The atmosphere was suffocating.
It was clear both sisters were burdened with unspoken worries, likely locked in internal battles.
Roland wondered what Haruno felt after discovering her sister had called out her to be husband’s name in bed. He knew how fiercely protective she was of Yuki.
Even Yukio remained silent, too overwhelmed by the varying intensities of the vibrating toy Buzz Buzz to even dare to speak. She probably feared her voice would crack into a stutter cries if she tried.
Thus, the entire meal passed in silence, the three Yukino women all preoccupied with thoughts of the same man but each with different situations.
Only after Roland cleared the dishes did Haruno finally break the eerie silence.
"Roland, come with me back to our room," Haruno said, her gaze lingering on her sister’s distracted expression. With a sigh, she took Roland by the arm and led him back to their room
Yuki lowered her head as her elder sister left without another word. She must be angry with me, she thought. After all, her earlier behavior had looked suspiciously like she was trying to seduce her own brother-in-law.
