Chapter 285 - 262: Three Tails

Naruto Uzumaki was utterly shocked by Li Cheng’s shameless audacity, and after awhile, he shook his head and said: "Sorry, your honor-should I call you Ant? We have already agreed to help Mr. Eugene eliminate the competitors."

Naruto typically embodies the hot-blooded male protagonist of a classic Shonen Jump manga. Li Cheng did not initiate the battle with indiscriminate killing like Joker, and even expressed his willingness to cooperate, so Naruto’s attitude remained relatively friendly.

The sudden Spiraling Sphere attack on the ventilation ducts was meant to force Li Cheng out of Nucleon Island, to avoid damage to the nuclear power plant.

A sudden realization hit Eugene; this version of Naruto was still too naively immature. With his casual remark, he had revealed a key piece of information—

Helping to eliminate competitors meant that Eugene had already revealed to the higher-ups of Toy City that only by eliminating other intrusive players could one win the key game.

Considering the lax display of power by Toy City police during the terrorist attack orchestrated by Joker earlier today, it’s clear that at least before that, Eugene had not warned Toy City Hall of any impending Transcendent attack.

In other words, his collaboration with City Hall only commenced this afternoon and was not particularly reliable.

If Eugene were to be forcefully eliminated, would City Hall seek revenge at all costs... That’s a big question mark.

At that moment, Eugene slightly hooked his little finger, suddenly retreating over a dozen steps backward, bending forward in pain, coughing out a mouthful of blood as if blasted by an invisible cannon.

"An ambush?"

Naruto frowned, gathering Chakra in his boots, darting forward with an electric burst, and delivering a right hook kick towards Li Cheng’s waist.
