Chapter 63- like a brother
Before Lilian, Morrison hadn’t dated any woman for at least half a year — his romantic life was a complete blank. The model after Lilian was just a few days’ fling, nothing serious, and Monna was even less of a factor.
Before Morrison could defend himself, Linda cut him off:
"Enough, enough. Whether that girl is reliable or not, or if she’s really suitable for Karl, you’ll see for yourself when you come back tomorrow night and meet her at dinner."
After hanging up, Morrison hesitated for a moment, then told Norton to change his schedule.
He was curious now — who was this mysterious girl that could make Karl, whose heart belonged only to research, stir with feelings and even bring her home for dinner?
Speaking of dinner at Karl’s house, Lilian felt frustrated. How could she have expected Linda to invite her over already? She and Karl had only just met. Even if they were really dating, going to his house for dinner so soon felt a little too much.
But to her surprise, her mother was right there encouraging the idea. Linda was enthusiastic, insisting that even if she and Karl weren’t officially a couple, their families had long-standing ties, so it was perfectly normal for Lilian to visit the Mosfamily for a meal.
In the end, Lilian couldn’t refuse the warm invitation.
She told herself that luckily Morrison was away on business and wouldn’t be back until Sunday — so if she went to dinner on Saturday, she wouldn’t have to face any awkward moments with him.
So on Saturday evening, following her mother’s suggestion, Lilian wore a nude-colored dress and headed out for the dinner.
Her hair was styled by Tiffany — parted into two strands at the front, each braided back and pinned with two small black clips.
The look made her appear fresh, gentle, sweet, and charming.
