Building a World Class Empire in another World

Chapter 106: Doesn’t add up

Aric opened his eyes, the darkness that had surrounded him vanished, and now all that was around him was the soft glow of the morning, the fresh smell of flowers and warm tea.

He stood in a small garden in the middle of the emotional void. Somehow, only the garden had light, and the outside was completely dark.

At the center of the garden was a pearl white marble table. It shined beautifully under the light. Two chairs were set at either side of the table, and a figure sat on one.

Dressed in a beautiful black gown and a veil covering half of her face, she sipped tea from the small teacup, her pinky finger extended to show elegance.

She took one sip of the tea and paused as if she was savoring the flavor for longer.

"Mortals have really come a long way since the beginning, capable of creating complex mixtures of liquid to soothe the throat and soul of a being.

It is one of the many fascinating things that I love about mortals," she said and slowly placed the cup down.

"You should come sit. Standing there will get you tired, and I also can’t have a chat with you if you are all the way there."

Her voice was like a breath of fresh air. The only person that he had ever seen with such a beautiful voice was the spirit that gave him his name, but he could already tell that this was not her.

He walked through the small path carefully and made his way to the chair. He carefully pulled it out and sat down, his eyes pinned on her in case she made any suspicious moves.
