Building a World Class Empire in another World

Chapter 65: The Battle part 3

Gorin leaped back a few meters as several roots reached for him. Almost falling into the moat, he stopped himself and then charged in at Aric.

Aric wanted to use Appraisal on Gorin to see his strength and other stats, but Gorin was not allowing him to do so.

Aric would have been able to fight a lot better here if he was fighting to kill, but he didn’t want to seriously harm him.

As Gorin charged in, roots shot out of the ground and swung at him. He used his sword to cut through it, but it grew back instantly and grabbed his wrist, tossing him high into the air.

More roots shot out of the ground, chasing after him. He spun in the air and used his sword to cut through them.

He landed, but the roots didn’t stop chasing after him. Gorin stomped his feet on the ground, and several earth pillars shot up and surrounded him, blocking off all the roots.

Gorin then broke the pillars into smaller shards and shot them at Aric, but he dodged them easily. Aric might not have used Appraisal on Gorin, but he could tell without a doubt that he was stronger than Gorin.

Gorin saw how freely Aric fought. He began to think that Aric was toying with him. That enraged Gorin. He attacked with more vigor, roaring as he ran.

"It doesn’t matter how strong you look. At the end of the day, you are still nothing but a hobgoblin, and honestly, you lack the intelligence to make use of your full strength," Aric said in a cold tone. Roots shot out from all directions, shooting toward Gorin.

But in that moment, the goblins made it through the dark, slid on the ice, and fell into the moat. This ended up distracting Aric and Gorin.
