"Daddy!!!"
Lanny’s jaws dropped in disbelief, her heart pounding loudly in her ears. Kimmy, her daughter who was supposed to be thousands of miles away in another country, stood right in front of her, calling Enzo "Daddy."
The shock rippled through Lanny like an electric current, spreading throughout her system. Her pale turned pale, leaving her breathless.
Her mind raced, trying to grasp the situation. ’How could Kimmy be here? Is there some mistake? Who brings her back here? And why is she calling Enzo "Daddy"?’ Lanny struggled to reconcile this unexpected reunion with the reality she knew.
On the other hand, Enzo’s initial shock was replaced by a warm smile, recognizing the young little girl whom they were talking about. Since his eyes were focused on Kimmy, Enzo failed to notice Lanny’s surprised expression.
Before Kimmy could recognize her, Lanny turned around, hiding her face from her daughter.
’Damn! Why now? What should I do?’ Lanny covered her face using both hands.
Meanwhile, Nanny Shao-Shao caught up with Kimmy, gently guiding her to Enzo’s table.
"Young Miss, remember to be polite," she reminded her softly, though Kimmy was already beaming with anticipation.
Kimmy just nodded and strode toward Enzo and Lanny’s table.
"Hi, Enzo!" Kimmy greeted him cheerfully, her eyes bright with excitement. "I came to visit you today!"
Enzo chuckled, charmed by Kimmy’s exuberance. "Hello, Kimmy! It’s great to see you again," he replied warmly, glancing at Nanny Shao-Shao with a grateful smile for bringing Kimmy to visit.
