"Yey! Thank you, Grandpa. Don’t worry about me. I assure you. I am safe here!" Aaron butted in. He was overjoyed since he could spend more time with Dominique.
"Alright, grandson. I know you are well-behaved. Mr. Smith will never have a hard time taking care of you. Just enjoy," Miguel responded dotingly.
"Thank you, Mr. Ivankov for trusting me. I’ll see you around."
With that, Dominique ended the call with a triumphant smile on his face. He glanced at Athena who was still in a trance.
’I can’t believe this. The super strict Mr. Miguel Ivankov let Aaron stay in Dominique’s place. Do they know each other?’ Athena mused to herself.
"How about you, Aunt Athena? Are you going home tonight?" Aaron asked her, snapping her out of her stupor.
"Huh? Me. No. I won’t go home. I’ll stay here as well."
Aaron’s eyes sparkled with delight upon hearing that. "Really?! You won’t go home because of me, Aunt?"
"Yes. I won’t. I can’t leave you here alone. Besides, I miss you. Don’t you want to spend time with me as well?"
Aaron immediately shook his head. "Of course not! I am also planning to convince you to stay."
The young boy grabbed her hand tightly. He missed her a lot. Although she kept hiding the truth, Aaron tried to understand his mother’s reason. He knew that someday, Athena would confess their real connection with each other. She was just waiting for the right time.
Meanwhile, Dominique darted his gaze back and forth between Aaron and Athena. He couldn’t explain the joy in his heart right now. For so long, he hadn’t felt this kind of happiness.
