Chapter 154: Business Deal

In the conference room, everyone felt tense except for Dominique. They were having their monthly update meeting with the different departments.
Dominique sat at the head of the long table, his expression a storm cloud of displeasure. His sharp and critical eyes darted from one staff member to another as they nervously fidgeted with their papers and laptops.
Dominique looked grumpy today, intimidating his staff. He already reprimanded five directors, finding faults and discrepancies with their reports.
"Is this the best you can do?" Dominique’s icy voice cut through the silence. He slapped a report down on the surface of the table.
Everyone jolted from the sound and impact. They could only shut their mouths and averted their gazes, not looking at him in the eyes.
"These figures are completely unacceptable. We’re weeks behind schedule. Have you contacted Mr. Ashton Davis? What is the cause of the delay in the construction services of his company?!" Dominique mentioned Ashton’s name in his stern cold voice.
The team members exchanged uneasy glances. They had a joint construction project with Ashton’s company. They thought Dominique wouldn’t mind the setbacks since Ashton was his best friend.
Surprisingly, Dominique put more emphasis on this issue today.
’Are the two best friends having an argument?’ The staff members mused to themselves.
"Sir, we’ve had some unexpected setbacks, but we’re working overtime together with Mr. Davis–"
"Unexpected setbacks?" Dominique interrupted the project manager, his tone laced with sarcasm. "Their president seems so relaxed lately. He even has time to date. But he didn’t have time to fix these delays."
