Chapter 152: Friend X Fiancée
Enzo darted his gaze back and forth between Lanny and Dmitri. He came to visit Lanny tonight because he wanted someone to talk to about his father, Albert Williams. Lanny was the first person that flashed into his mind. With that, he found a reason to drop by her place and see her.
For the past few days, he had been troubled by Dominique’s revelation. He kept thinking whether it was true or not. But he was afraid to confirm it. He didn’t have a recollection of what kind of a person his father was.
"Enzo? What are you doing here?" Even Lanny was surprised to see him.
Meanwhile, Dmitri sized Enzo up, from head to toe. He wondered who was this handsome guy standing in front of Lanny’s condo unit.
Enzo smiled awkwardly. "I want to talk to you about something. But I guess... I came at the wrong time."
He shifted his gaze from Lanny to Dmitri. Deep inside, he was curious who was the guy standing next to Lanny. He was tall, dark, and handsome.
’Is he one of her flings?’ Enzo clenched his fists at that thought. ’Is she going to sleep with this guy tonight?’ Enzo noticed Dmitri’s backpack.
Lanny could tell that Enzo was troubled by something. However, she also had another guest tonight. And she didn’t know how she would entertain the two. Yet, part of her didn’t want Enzo to leave without sharing his concern.
Lanny glanced at both Enzo and Dmitri. She was torn between the two men. ’Will it be okay if I invite Enzo inside? I don’t think Dmitri will care about it, right?’ There was a hint of uncertainty in her eyes.
"Ahem," Dmitri cleared his throat, eyeing Lanny meaningfully. It seemed like he was urging Lanny to introduce Enzo to him.
Understanding his gaze, Lanny spoke again. "Dmitri, this is Enzo, my friend."
She paused for a moment before introducing Dmitri. "Enzo, this is Dmitri..."
