Chapter 138: Reason for Betrayal

Enzo had been serving the customers when Alice arrived to see him.
"Babe!" Alice’s voice resounded from the entrance of the Cafe.
A radiant smile flashed across Enzo’s face upon seeing her. Without further ado, he ran in her direction. Upon reaching her spot, Enzo pulled her into a warm hug.
"You’re here!" Enzo tightened his grip on her body. "I’ve missed you."
Alice could only hug him back and replied, "I miss you too."
"How have you been, my Love? I hope the journey wasn’t too tiresome." Enzo broke the hug to see her face.
"It was fine. I’m energized now that I see you." Alice smiled tenderly, her eyes sparkling with warmth.
"Please come in. I’ll just inform our manager that I’m stepping out for a bit." Enzo guided her inside the cafe, his hand gently resting on her lower back.
As they walked in, one of Enzo’s colleagues looked up and grinned. "Enzo, go ahead and entertain your visitor. We’ve got your shift covered. Don’t worry about a thing."
Enzo flashed a grateful smile. "Thanks, guys. I owe you one." He turned back to Alice, his expression softening. "I bet you are hungry from that long journey. You should eat first. Wait, I’ll be right back."
Alice nodded, glancing around the cozy cafe. Enzo quickly made his way to the manager’s office. Moments later, he returned, leading Alice to a quiet corner by the window.
