Chapter 63: Journey
[ At Fortuna Grande Island... ]
Enzo started packing his stuff. He decided to go to York City and try to recover his memory. He was looking forward to seeing Athena and Lanny once again.
"Are you sure about this? I can’t accompany you. My supervisor hasn’t approved my leave yet." Alice sat down on the bed, watching Enzo as he put his clothes inside his bag.
Enzo stopped what he was doing and approached Alice. He stood in front of her and held her shoulders. "Don’t worry about me. You’ve done so much for me already. You don’t have to always prioritize me. Your patients need you more. I can take care of myself now."
Alice pouted her lips. "I just don’t want you to get separated from me because I’m going to miss you."
Enzo chuckled, leaning over to kiss her on her forehead. "You can follow me once you get the approval of your leave." He gently patted her head.
Alice could only bob her head. "Fine. I’ll process my leave and beg my supervisor to approve it quickly."
"No need to hurry. You can take your time." Enzo hugged her to console her.
Alice was always there for him. This time he wanted to be independent, not relying on her. He wanted to go on this journey on his own. It’s been five years. Now, he was returning to York City, his heart filled with anticipation and uncertainty.
Alice sighed deeply. She wasn’t sure if this was a good idea. ’Enzo looks determined. I won’t be able to sway him.’
"Can’t you postpone your trip today? Don’t you want to wait for me?" Alice tried to stop him once again.
Enzo chuckled and shook his head. "You can’t come with me. I have to do this alone. I don’t want to be a burden to you for so long. It’s time for me to face and solve my problems without relying too much on you. Allow me to be a man." He caressed her cheeks, asking for her understanding.
