Chapter 24: Unfaithfulness

"Cheers!" Sasha raised her glass of beer. She tried to be cheerful in front of Melissa and Liz. The three ladies reserved a private booth where they could have fun and get drunk to their heart’s content.
"Here’s to friendship and forgetting our troubles!" Melissa declared, raising her glass high. They clinked glasses and giggled before sipping their drinks.
A waiter stopped at their booth to gather their additional order. As Liz checked the menu, Melissa shoved Sasha’s shoulder to get her attention.
Melissa dropped her voice to a hushed tone and asked, "You are supposed to spend intimate time with him. What the hell are you doing here? Did you argue with your husband? Is it my fault?"
Sasha dismissed any speculation with a wave of her glass. "No, not at all. Just needed a breather. Dominique is exhausted, and tonight is a no-go."
Melissa heaved a sigh of relief. "Phew. Good to hear. Then try it tomorrow."
Sasha just gave her a simple nod in response.
Liz, ever the enthusiastic one, gestured for them to join her. "Ladies, come over here. There’s something I want to show you." As VIP clients of this club, their booth provided them with a bird’s-eye view of the lively scene below.
The pulsating beats of music reverberated through the crowded club, setting the rhythm for the vibrant atmosphere. People clad in stylish attire moved to the beat on the neon-lit dance floor.
