Chapter 11: Sacrifices
"How can you be easily swayed by a woman? I thought you loved your wife, Sasha, yet when a beautiful woman approached you, you easily gave in to the temptation. Do you really know how to love, Dominique? What does love mean to you?" Sabrina couldn’t help but raise these questions as she watched Dominique’s sleeping figure, her eyes filled with resentment and mockery.
After passing out, Sabrina moved him to the bed. She stripped him of his clothes, covering his naked body with a blanket. She sat on the edge of the bed with her clenched fists.
Sabrina took a deep breath as she stood up. She headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower and brush her teeth. She wanted to erase the lingering taste of Dominique’s kiss from her mouth.
Upon entering the bathroom, she promptly vomited. The memory of the earlier kiss in the dining area disgusted her, causing her stomach to churn with strong distaste.
This was now the effect of Dominique on her. The butterflies were gone. The love that once nestled in her heart for him had now been replaced by anger, hatred, and disgust. Despite this, Sabrina had to endure it for the sake of her revenge.
After throwing up, Sabrina rinsed her mouth thoroughly with water, expelling it to cleanse. Then she brushed her teeth multiple times as if it could help her get rid of the unwanted memories of their shared kiss.
Sabrina, feeling the need for a thorough cleanse because of Dominique’s touch, decided to immerse herself in the warm water of the bathtub. As she sank into the water, she closed her eyes, allowing the tension to dissolve.
Sabrina took her time, letting the warmth envelop her, cleansing not only her body but also the turmoil within. In that relaxing moment, her thoughts drifted back to a memory from three years ago—a conversation between her and Lanny.

Seated on a chair, Sabrina faced a full-length mirror with Lanny standing behind her. Carefully, Lanny started unwrapping the bandages that concealed Sabrina’s face. As her face was unveiled, a cascade of complex emotions played across Sabrina’s eyes.
