Chapter 1: Betrayal
"Sabby, my... daughter... I feel like I don’t have much time left... Just always... remember that I love you so much... you and your brother, Enzo..." Albert spoke in his weak tone.
"No, Dad. Don’t say that..." Sabrina held her father’s hand tightly, shaking her head. "You are going to recover..."
Albert glanced at her with so much love. Despite feeling weak, he managed to flash a smile. "I am at ease knowing that Dominique is by your side. Where is he? I want to talk to him..."
"Sure, Dad." Sabrina took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Dad, he’s not answering the phone, maybe he’s busy right now. Don’t worry, I’ll go to the company."
A moment later, at Dominique’s office.
The man was sitting on the couch, reading a piece of document in his hand. It looked like he was lost in his thoughts.
"Dom!" Her voice snapped Dominique back to the present.
Dominique lifted his head and was surprised to see her. He rose from his seat to face her. "How has your father been feeling lately?"
Sabrina took a deep sigh, sadness evident in her eyes. "He’s been a bit weak... His health is steadily declining. The doctor said we have to prepare for the worst. He wants to see you and talk to you."
