Chapter 35: Evelyn: The Alpha Who Couldn’t Stay Calm
Evelyn~
The werewolves who had been waiting near the tiger trap gasped in disbelief when they saw their Alpha carrying me out alive.
My skin and dress were soaked in blood, completely torn and messy. Yet somehow, despite everything, there wasn’t a single wound left on my body. It was impossible ... and yet, it was true.
Rael lifted his hand, silently telling everyone not to speak or make a fuss. Then he turned to Marek with a firm voice, "Beta, clean up all the blood she left in the trap. Every drop of it. Don’t leave a trace, or that bastard will track her here."
That "bastard" could only mean Theron.
Truthfully, I wasn’t sure if cleaning up my blood and tracks would be enough to stop Theron from coming to find me. After all, he had marked me, so he could probably sense me anywhere, even if I were buried deep underground.
Still, I couldn’t say that in front of Rael’s pack. If I did, I might embarrass him. Worse, they might think I wasn’t worthy of being their Luna and throw me out.
Although, now that I thought about it ... being thrown out didn’t sound so bad. At least that way, they’d let me go without hurting me.
But if they decided to get rid of me to protect their Alpha’s pride or the reputation of their pack, then I wouldn’t even get the chance to run.
Maybe it was better to tell Rael the truth when we were alone. If my wolf was right about him, maybe he wouldn’t lash out at me.
