There was definitely something wrong with me.
I had spent the entire day and night having sex with Theron, like some wild animal in heat, the kind that had no shame in biting and scratching each other just to satisfy their lust.
However, strangely enough, my body felt more refreshed than ever. Sure, I could heal myself quickly, but usually that came with some fatigue, probably because I was always too depressed after surviving another death attempt.
But this time, my body regenerated not because someone tried to kill me. Well, technically, he did stab me with his big pillar, but that’s ... a different kind of story.
It happened because someone poured his love into me—wait, no. Was that even love?
He only marked me because I was his mate. So maybe it wasn’t love. Maybe it was just lust.
But whatever.
The point is, I felt better after having sex with him and maybe, a little happy.
"A bit happy?" my wolf scoffed. "It’d be easier to just admit you’re really happy right now."
I asked bluntly, "Why would you say that?"
"Because you’re smiling so wide," she said. "Go look at yourself in the mirror and you’ll see just how happy you are!"
