Chapter 15: Evelyn: The Alpha’s Touch

His wolf kind of terrified me, so I didn’t want to see or speak to him again. Even if it was difficult, I truly hoped Theron would never let his wolf take over his body in bed again.
"Then, before he ever tries to come back ..." Theron leaned down, his breath brushing against my ear as he whispered, "Let me mark you now."
I didn’t say anything, just gave him a small nod.
But that simple gesture was enough to make him understand that I had given him permission to mark me.
Theron didn’t waste another second. He gently tilted my head to the side, brushing my hair away to expose my neck. I thought he’d go for the back of my neck because as far as I knew, most Alphas marked their mates there.
However, unexpectedly, Theron bit the side of my neck.
I winced and gritted my teeth as his fangs sank into my skin.
The pain was unbearable that a few tears escaped the corners of my eyes.
It made me feel like a helpless deer caught in the jaws of a fierce wolf, like prey with no choice but to let the predator devour it.
It felt like I was the meal and he was the top of the food chain.
"Oh, come on, don’t be so dramatic," my wolf scoffed inside my head. "It just feels like a mosquito bite."
