Chapter 12: Evelyn: Driven Wild by the Heat

The air in the room grew heavier, thick with the scent of our bodies, making it harder and harder to think straight.
I didn’t know if letting him mark me was the right decision, but this heat had tortured me so much that the only thing I wanted was to end it.
I needed his mark.
I needed him to put an end to my misery.
I brought my face closer to his. Maybe I was acting this way because his pheromones had intoxicated me or maybe, deep down, I truly wanted him.
"Help me, Theron." I locked eyes with him, pleading. "Please ... help me make the pain go away."
I pressed my lips against his. His eyes widened in surprise, clearly not expecting me to be bold enough to make the first move.
His golden eyes burned with lust. At that moment, I realized it was too late to run away, and I knew Theron had stopped trying to hold himself back.
He grabbed the back of my head, pulling me deeper into the kiss until I couldn’t breathe.
But that wasn’t a problem. I didn’t need to breathe to stay alive anymore.
He devoured my lips—top and bottom—shifting between biting and sucking as if my lips could somehow ease his hunger.
