Chapter FORTY ONE

A ticking second went past.
Then another.
It couldn’t be happening.
Kieran wasn’t kissing me in front of the whole school!
Well, not exactly on my lips, his mouth was close to mine, pressed near the corner of my mouth, but it felt the same, the same electricity shooting through my body like lightning.
I felt like the world was ending and my entire body was a thundering mess because I couldn’t breathe, I also couldn’t move to push him away either.
Slowly, he pulled away and my gaze locked with those stainless steel eyes.
I took a staggering step backward, inhaling raggedly for much needed air while my lips tingled where his had almost touched them.
I expected to see the mockery and sneer in his gaze because after all, his reason for kissing me could not be anything other than to disgrace me publicly.
A heavy pang slashed through my heart because somehow I wanted the kiss to be real.
