Chapter 250 (End)
"I, Lancelot Grant, take you, Madeline Rose, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for as long as we both shall live. This is my solemn vow."
"Now, repeat after me, bride," the Bishop ordered, and Madeline nodded.
Lance could feel Madeline’s palms were sweaty. She looked confident as always, but Lance knew she was just as nervous.
Thus, he rubbed her hand with his thumb and whispered, "Just a little more before we can be together, Maddy."
Madeline nodded as she got her assurance and followed the Bishop’s words.
"I, Madeline Rose, take you, Lancelot Grant, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for as long as we both shall live. This is my solemn vow."
"You will now exchange rings as a symbol of the lifelong commitment and abiding love which you as husband and wife have promised to each other," the Bishop announced. "Groom, you can put the ring on the bride’s finger."
Lance took the beautiful ring shaped like a flower petal and gently held Madeline’s hand.
He put the ring on her finger and kissed her hand for the second time. "Should I call you wife or babe now?"
"Wife," Madeline replied as she took the ring for Lance and slowly put it on his finger. She rubbed his hand as she felt the satisfaction of finally having Lance as her husband. "Then, should I call you Mr. Grant or husband now?"
Lance leaned forward so nobody except Lance would hear his next words, "Mr. Grant in bed. Husband in public."
Madeline’s cheeks reddened as she playfully hit Lance’s chest. She whispered back at him, "Then you can call me whatever in bed. I know you have been holding back this whole time, Mr. Grant."
