This was the first time Nathan’s cooking was praised by an outsider. Usually, his parents and sister would always compliment his food, but to receive compliments from a royalty like Lancelot Grant, he was undoubtedly happy.
Nathan lowered his head and nodded lightly, trying to contain his joy and pride.
Madeline chuckled when she saw her brother’s embarrassment, "Maybe we should send him to a culinary school after he graduates high school," she suggested. "I heard there’s this famous culinary school in French, Le Cordon Bleu."
"Mhm, I can send him there right after he finished high school," Lance nodded while eating the beef brisket. "But what do you think, Nathan? Do you plan to be a chef or have another plan for your future?"
"I—I don’t know. No plan yet, Sir," Nathan said bashfully.
"What’s with the ’Sir’?" Madeline chuckled.
"Just call me Lance or Big Bro if you want; I don’t mind," Lance said while glancing at Madeline.
He was usually very careful about what kind of people he allowed to be in his vicinity. But he didn’t mind if Nathan became part of his small family.
After all, Madeline really loved her little brother. So, gaining Nathan’s trust meant Madeline wouldn’t think about leaving him.
"Well, if you’re unsure about your future plan, how about you start by working at The Oak Tree with Cedric first?" Lance offered. "My cousin is a renowned professional chef. He’d be glad to finally have his first student."
Of course, Nathan knew that restaurant, The Oak Tree, and the chef, Cedric Phoenix Gray.
Cedric wasn’t a celebrity chef, but he was popular enough to be called one. So, Nathan got excited about the idea of being his student.
