Zane hung up the call after he got what he wanted.
He checked the trending topic on social media with his second phone, and his lips thinned as he was angry at reading those scathing comments about Maddy.
"These braindead people. It’s obvious that Maddy becomes the center of attention in Summer Heat Lovers because she is just effortlessly charming," Zane muttered as he kept reading those hate comments.
But he didn’t want to do anything until Madeline asked him to.
After that call a month ago, Madeline didn’t call him anymore.
Zane knew that Madeline was just doing what he wanted her to do: only call him when she was in a dire situation.
But that dire situation never came up, and Zane was too bitter and proud to call Madeline and say he was missing her a lot.
He wanted to meet her. He wanted to hold her, and for each second she wasn’t in his embrace, he realized he couldn’t just go back to his old days and patiently wait while doing nothing.
He had tasted Madeline’s lips, saw her sweet body, and embraced her. He was like a man finally finding an oasis in the middle of a scorching desert, so he would do anything to return to that oasis once more.
As his mood soured, he got a call from Julia, his senior and acquaintance in the entertainment circle, telling him that Madeline Rose came with Mr. Lancelot Grant to the production set.
She recorded Madeline and Lance, showing how they seemed harmonious together, as if they were actually dating and in a good relationship, much to Zane’s despair.
