Chapter 127
Lance parked his car in front of a production studio where the first few episodes of The Liar Husband and Lying Wife were being filmed.
Lance clenched the steering wheel as he tried his best not to put the gear in reverse and get out of this place with Madeline while it wasn’t too late.
He turned around and tried to persuade her one more time, "It’s not too late to change your mind, Maddy. You shouldn’t be doing this, and I’d rather let you wait for six months or so before I can prepare everything necessary to start the TV show project."
"You can still prepare that project while I’m busy with this one, right?" Madeline leaned and gave Lance a gentle kiss on the lips. "Thank you for your concern, but I am fine. I signed for this and am more than ready to face anything."
Lance’s heart sank when he saw the determination in Madeline’s eyes. In the end, he was truly a powerless man.
He might have the illusion of grandeur that he was as powerful as his father or big brother. But he was a lower priority than them because he wasn’t good enough.
He became the CEO of Empress Entertainment because he wasn’t good enough to handle bigger projects.
Lance gently caressed Madeline’s cheek and vowed solemnly, "I will make sure that none of them can touch you. You are safe under my wing, Maddy."
"Mhm, thanks, Mr. Grant." Madeline smiled at Lance before leaving the car.
Lance held Madeline’s hand firmly and led her to the production studio.
This was the first time after four years that Madeline stepped into a production studio where they made TV shows.
It wasn’t as grand as when she was in The Last Spring. But it was still amazing for Madeline, because she really thought she wouldn’t be able to stand in this place anymore after her scandal broke out.
