Chapter 86
Russel felt that he was at his limit, but he still wanted to prove to Jasmin that he was good enough to be her partner.
"I—I will try to get more!" Russel said as he grabbed his fishing net again. But before he could leave, Jasmin held his wrist and said, "You’ve done a good job. These are enough to win us the game."
"A—Are you sure? I only caught a tuna and a lobster..."
"Yeah, I’m sure," Jasmin assured. "Now go dry yourself. I’m going to win this game."
Jasmin’s confidence was quite shocking. She washed her hands and picked up the lobster first. She grabbed the suitable knife and cut the lobster skillfully, much to Madeline’s shock.
"Jasmin, can you cook?" Madeline asked.
"Ah, I’ve never told you before, but I worked in a seafood restaurant while I started my rapping career back then," Jasmin said. "So I’m confident that I can beat you, girl."
That last sentence sent Madeline into incredible joy. She wanted to thank God for giving her such a perfect scenario because she didn’t need to fake her incompetence too much.
But of course, she still acted arrogant right now: "Hmph, I don’t need any cooking experience to make something good. I am Madeline Rose. I can make... uh... sushi or something."
Madeline patted Zane’s arm and said, "Thanks for helping me, babe. I will cook something out of these... whatever you give me. Go get a rest."
Zane couldn’t hide his smile. Even though he knew he’d lose against the other team, at least Madeline was happy with what he gave.
He glanced at Lance and smirked, taunting him with the implication that he, not the Mr. Richboy who set her up for failure, was actually the man preferred by Madeline.
