Chapter 69
"Let me make your life harder, Bertha," Madeline said. ’Just like how you make my life harder by acting like a snake and spreading fake rumors about me since I was a child.’
Madeline had a lot of grudges against Bertha, and that grudge was definitely reciprocated because Bertha had obviously hated her since they were young, for whatever reason.
They were childhood friends at the same kindergarten, primary school, and junior high.
They were also in the same choir club in junior high, though Madeline was obviously the star of the choir because of her angelic voice.
Unfortunately, despite them having to know each other for so long, Bertha hated her guts and talked shit about Madeline behind her back.
’Well, it’s better not to think about this,’ Madeline told herself as she shook her head. Recalling bitter memories of the past would only slow her progress, so she tried to focus on the game instead.
Madeline knew how to make the game miles harder for Bertha.
She read the name tag placed near the cage: "Tioman Kukri Snake, huh?"
Madeline checked all the red snakes she could find in the cage and then ensured she found the same species: a kukri snake.
After a while, she finally found the snake she wanted to use, another red Kukri snake with an eerily similar appearance to the Tioman Kukri snake, but there were no thin black stripes on its body.
It was a Red Coral Kukri snake.
The snake charmer approached Madeline and asked, "What do you want to do with this one, Miss?"
