Chapter 32
Madeline woke up early in the morning when she got a text from Ada saying that her flight would board at nine in the morning.
She had already prepared everything the night before. Since the weather in Bali was mostly hot and humid, she prepared a big bottle of sunscreen and many summer dresses and bikinis.
Sadly, she only had one triangle bikini that left almost nothing to the imagination. Most of her bikinis were still mildly covered. She was embarrassed to wear something too revealing because she rarely went to the beach.
After all, she was in hiding for four years and spent her younger days working in the entertainment industry. Wearing a bikini to the beach was almost like something out of a dream for her.
She pulled her big luggage out of her room with difficulty, and as she opened the door, she saw Nathan, who was already standing there.
"Nathan? Isn’t it too early for you to wake up?" Madeline asked as she checked her watch. "It’s only six."
"I woke up early today to see you out," Nathan said. He snatched the big luggage and carried it down the stairs without any problem.
Madeline followed him from behind, confused about why her brother would kindly wake up early to help her.
"Is everything alright? Five thousand should be fine for a month, right?" Madeline asked.
"Yeah, it’s more than enough," Nathan said. "I made you some pancakes for breakfast. Go eat them before your pickup arrives."
"Well... thank you." Madeline happily sat at the dining table and began eating her breakfast made by her brother. She wondered if money was the key to her brother’s tolerance and kindness, making her wonder if she should give him more later.
’Wait, that’s not good. That would only spoil him,’ Madeline thought. ’I’m basically his parent while Mom is away. I have to be careful.’
