Chapter 370: He Makes Her Heart Skip A Beat
Boyfriend...
Viviana’s lips curved into a smile. She probably is the only woman in this world to call her husband a boyfriend. But she was grateful he is with her. She wanted him with her for the premiere and here he is! Other things didn’t matter.
Leander walked to the mirror and did a final touch-up on his beard. He’s growing out his beard because he thinks that people won’t identify him if he had a beard. He looked the same for her through. But maybe she was partial because she always focused on his eyes. She was a little sad he was hiding his strong jawline with a beard though.
Although he had been growing out his beard for a month now, he had a very thick beard. Maybe it’s his genetics or it could be his testosterone. She leaned toward the latter. His voice was deeper as the Mariana Trench and although he’s lost some weight, he is muscles have gotten harder. She’s not a scientist, but she knew. He’s been very "active" these days. She was not complaining. Why would she when she has her husband to warm her bed?
Her life is wonderful! She has everything she ever asked for and some more. She has a family!
"Your beard is not going to fool anyone," she said for the umptieth time in the past week. Although she didn’t see any difference in his face, she preferred him without a beard. "You look generic now."
He had a distinctive jawline and now it’s gone. She mourned his strong jawline. Only men with double chins need a beard. Not her husband!
"I’m never generic. I’m standing next to you!" Leander winked at her. Seeing her frown turn upside down, his heart filled with glee.
At times Leander pretended he didn’t hear her. He had found the skill of "selective hearing" to be pretty useful especially when his wife has turned to be of the nagging sort. He didn’t find her nagging off-putting though. He admired her when she nagged. She’d look cute. From looking at him with fire in her eyes to getting so comfortable with him enough for her to nag—she’s grown a lot. He loved her the way she was.
At times, he would retort her like this and when he sees her eyes gleaming with mirth, he would feel like he had achieved his life’s purpose. It is true. A happy wife is indeed a happy life.
