Chapter 274: The Funeral (3)
Leander looked at Leonardo. He looked defeated.
"What did you tell him?" he asked Viviana.
She was huffing in anger and he could see her fingers trembling. She must have done something out of anger and is currently fearing the repercussions. She would shout at him, but what did she do to Leonardo for him to look like he wanted to be anywhere but here?
He was told that Leonardo cannot be shamed as his morals were so low and he would make the devil blush with his shamelessness. How did she manage to make him feel shame?
Viviana scoffed. "I told him the truth. He kept on talking to me and I told him that I don’t want my reputation ruined by associating with him."
She told Leander the truth. If something backfired, Leander should know the truth. She knew he can handle it. She had a feeling that Leander wouldn’t mind her straightforwardness. Her husband wouldn’t want her to pander to someone like Leonardo even if he wants to make a deal with him. He will find a way on his own.
She knows that much about him.
Seeing Leander’s proud smirk, she was pleased.
"And what did he say?" Leander asked rubbing her lower back. Without knowing, he walked with a skip in his step.
"Can we talk about this at home?" Viviana fixed the hair behind her ear. She felt like everyone was looking at her. Also, it was not like Leander to be gossipy.
"Fine," Leander kissed her temple before taking his seat.
Viviana blinked her eyes touching where he kissed her. This is a funeral and just after burying his brother, he is kissing her in front of others. Surely, he does not care for societal norms.
