Chapter 221: Two Birds One Stone
Leander watched as the smile on her face reduced and she fell asleep.
"You were not kidding when you said you were tired, huh?" he fixed her hair.
He wiped her and covered her with the duvet. He placed his hand over the bandage. It was not a big wound thankfully. If it was on him, he wouldn’t have minded it.
But that wound was on his wife. She is complaining of pain. His heart was burning.
When she fell limply in his arms, he thought that he had lost her. That feeling... he’d rather die than feel that way again.
Without thinking twice, she jumped in front of a bullet to save him. Honestly, what can he do with her?
It was not her desire to die that made her do that. He knew it. He knew it because she shouted his name as she stepped to possible death. She wanted to save him and didn’t care about anything else.
He held her hand and kissed it. He didn’t know why she would do that for him.
It was a good thing Leonardo Vitale was a bad shot. Otherwise... what if something terrible happened to her? His heart shook even thinking of living knowing he won’t see her face again. He’d starve without her cooking.
Leander asked Lionel to have an eye on Leonardo and have an ear to what his father was planning. That’s why he was in hiding the whole time.
Don Waldorf seemed to be busy dealing with Palatini and that’s how Lionel could take control of the port and tried to stop Leonardo from leaving as he got information that the Vitale family owns a seaplane.
But Don Vitale got involved (not surprisingly) and Don Waldorf overrode Lionel’s orders and aided in Leonardo Vitale’s escape. Don Vitale had involved the Home Minister of their country for his son’s safety so the cops were of no use.
